What a charming book! I was instantly drawn in by Dale's ability to truly describe what it felt like to be alive and well in the 50s.I found his stories funny and engaging, the kind of biography that becomes an enjoyable read even if you don't know the person.
Loved the tales and hijinks that Dale went through as a slightly unruly teen but straightens out into a respectable adult.
This is a really wonderful coming-of-age tale set in a time that has always fascinated me.

It's so much fun to travel back to those "good ol' days"! Even though I grew up in New York the misadventures bought a smile, a laugh and a tear to my eye. Loved it and thanks for sharing.
Hilarious! The 50s were a great time to be growing up and now I know that Dale does have nine lives.
Now this was the Madison that I grew up in. From the same neighborhoods and schools, to the really good people that came from here. This was a nice little read, and it was almost like reliving my youth. Job well done, nice story Dale...
I totally enjoyed this walk down memory lane. Shared some of the experiences (like being smuggled into the drive-in) and the ones I didn't still reminded me a of times when life was simpler but still exciting. At the risk of sounding like my mother, "I miss the good old days!"
Highly entertaining, a real hoot. Sharon and I considered ourselves friends and drinking buddies of the author. I remember our times fondly. Maybe we will be in his sequel, just a snippet.
OMG! You think you know somebody! LOL I went to school with the author. You don't have to be from our little town to enjoy this book! You just have to appreciate someone who had so many adventures --- and LIVED TO TELL ABOUT THEM. Great book, Dale! Thanks! ~m
