Sean just can’t seem to settle, he has a feeling that there is something out in the world just waiting for him, leaving his lover Zach isn’t an easy choice, but it is one that he has to make. Stranded, alone and freezing Sean is rescued by a man who is lost himself, what Sean and Ezra share that night has them both finding home. This is a touching slight paranormal with a touch of historical element. Sean is searching for something, but he just doesn’t know what, leaving his boyfriend, Zach, he sets out to wander the country and find what is missing from his life, but stranded and freezing he fears that Zach’s last words to him may come true. Ezra has also been searching for something, but he knows what it is, he just can’t seem to find his way, saving Sean and bringing him back to his humble cabin, leads him to find his way home.
This is quite a poignant little story, which is brimming with heart clenching emotion, Sean at first seems to be selfish, he has a man who adores him and will travel with him when the urge hits Sean, but he throws Zach’s love back in his face because he has a feeling that there is something or someone out there that would just be right. When Sean finds himself freezing under a tree I couldn’t quite quench the little spark that wanted to shout ‘Karma’, but the following scenes touch your heart as he comes to realise that what he was looking for was right in front of him the entire time. Ezra has also been looking for something and spending the night with Sean shows him the way, their coming together is beautiful and isn’t a quick fix, it is a joining of souls, a sharing of lives that will blow you away.
I will recommend this to those who love slight paranormal stories, historical flashbacks, sweet loving, finding the way home and a very happy ending for all involved.

Icicle Paranormal M/M Short edition by Natalie Vale Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
Icicle was one of the best short stories that I have ever read! Just when I thought I had had figured out what was happening, BAM!, another twist. Great story, fantastic author! I will be watching and waiting for more from Natalie Vale.
Icicle is a remarkably powerful m/m (lightly paranormal) romance that is both surprising and touching. This is a relatively brief story packed with hot sexy m/m scenes, true love, regret, raw grief, and redemption. Rarely have I been as affected by a romantic story. Natalie Vale is definitely an author I will read again!
What a lovely story Icicle was, such a pleasant surprise.
Discovering and enjoying a new author is a plus.
Sean is a lost man, he is not completely satisfied with his life and he leaves his town and his lover to go searching for something he feels his life is missing, tho he doesn't know what it is.
On a cold night, almost at the end of his strength and will, Sean is rescued by a mysterious man. A man with secrets and regrets of his own.
A man that in the end will give Sean back his hope and will to live.
But, who is saving who?
Honestly, the emotion, that heart clenching emotion you get from a very well written love scene. A connection that goes beyond words.
I love it when a book can get that reaction from me, and in such a short story as well.
I am looking forward to more from this author.
I don't want to give away the story line or share any spoilers I truly hope you read this lovely romance.

Written in the present tense (which I thought was a very clever spin considering the subject matter of this story), it is a poignant tale of Sean, who is never satisfied and never really happy. While the blurb states he is haunted by a recent breakup, it is Sean himself who did the breaking. He had Zach, a man who loves him despite his inability to be really committed to them, and he tosses him away. Oh I hated Sean then. Zach's parting words to him are what actually haunt Sean at first.
As he wanders, he increasingly realizes that the "big moment" he keeps looking for isn't happening. It is only when the words nearly come true that Sean begins to understand what he's done. This is after he is saved by Ezra. Oh Ezra, how lonely that man is. My heart broke for him, how sad he is.
This story isn't long but it's written so well. I could see Ezra and I wanted him happy, content, with the one he loves. I wanted Sean to see what he had given up and know it was wrong. It's a lovely story.
This book has multiple elements I like.
1. A little historical in the memories of Ezra
2. A paranormal element
3. Enduring love
There is a new Country singer named Drake Jensen who has two songs out that describe this book perfectly so I'm going to quote a couple lines from those songs.
From the song "I Found Me"
Through darkness and the dead of night
I struggled till I found the light
In the end I guess it's worth it all
Cos who I found I didn't know at all ...... I found me
And from the song "On My Way To Finding You"
Past the faces I was searching to fill the hunger in my heart
And on to the bottom... of every dead end road that I came to
I was a man on a mission....on my way to finding you
Now I'm not sure what I did so right
To find someone who loves like you do
As if all of my wandering days
Was a journey I was meant to make it through
On my way to finding you.
Sean in this story was looking for both himself and for someone else to love him. As in the song, he really had to make the journey to find both.
Although this story is rather short, it does get those points across so well.
